Hello!

Holy crap! I haven't blogged in over a month and it's not for lack of things to talk about, I assure you. The holidays were very very busy, I went to five family christmas events, my mom got engaged, and eddie got a promotion.

All good things at least! :)

New years was interesting. I went to Cleveland to hang out with A and some of her friends. One of them brought a guy named Rico. Okay. I'm going to pause for a second. When you imagine what a guy named Rico looks like, what do you think of? This guy was ridiculous. He wore 2 strings of rosary beads, a sideways ball cap, and was like 4 foot tall. And he was a total douche.

So yeah. I rang in the new year with a guy named Rico. Sounds like the punchline to a terrible joke doesn't it?

It became even more interesting at about 1 am when a bunch of lovecraftesque weirdo's came to our table and asked for rides home.

Apparently A had found out about the party through a local "online meetup" group, and this was the first time she had ever seen any of them in RL.

The guy who organized it and his friend looked normal enough, but there were a couple other people that I would definitely think twice about riding in a car with. I had to try really hard not to laugh when N whispered to me that the squat crushed velvet clad woman at his elbow "smelled like an old grape." Luckily a tall blonde arrived shortly after and ushered them away into a big unmarked white van in the parking lot.

Maybe it's the line of work I'm in, but the van, the corncupia of weirdos, and the authoratative blonde stranger made it seem as though they had come from some local adult group home for an outing and their "handler" had come to collect them.

I'm going to hell.

There hasn't really been too much else going on around here lately, it's been far too cold to do anything. Today it's a very chilly -11 degrees Farenheit. It's supposed to break this weekend, which will be a much welcome change. I've spent the last few days reading and watching the british series "spaced." This afternoon I'm going to watch the last two episodes of battlestar galactica, so when I watch the new one tonight I'll know what's going on. Then I'm going to lounge around in my pajamas.

It's good to be back.

Isn't it annoying when life gets in the way of blogging? ;P

Sounds like you've been having a great time, colonel - congrats to Eddie on the promotion. FIVE Christmas events? Wow. And do you like the guy your mum's engaged to?

Rico... bwahahahahahahahahahaha!

And I'm pretty sure I would have had the same thought you did about the "interesting people" and the white van that came to collect them.
(I guess I'll be seeing you in hell, hey?)

Hope you're staying warm and having a good weekend.

I'm counting down the hours til BSG is available.

Who is the Final Cylon!?!!?!?!?

lol, sounds like a fun night. Perhaps the blond lady just runs her own 'douche removal' service. "Will remove douches and drop them off at a distant location. Quick service, low rates." (I think we just stumbled onto a really great business idea here...)

Tell Eddie congrats on getting the promotion.

Misse-Thanks! I do actually like the guy my mom is marrying. Sometimes I feel bad because I talk to him more than I do my real dad.

And OMG BSG is totally off the hook! I can't wait to see how it all ends!

Billy-Hmm. Rico would be an interesting name for a funeral director. Would he be wearing a fedora?

Mark-That would be awesome! Too bad she didn't take rico! He was douchetastic!
