Updatage!

Work is going very well. I really like my new job, and am enjoying my new responsibilities. Today I found out that I will be heading the writer's group every Friday, and think it's going to be a lot of fun. That being said, does anyone have any suggestions for online resources or books to use? Thanks!

I went to the dentist the other day, and told him that I'd noticed that there seemed to still be a fragment in the bottom right side of my mouth where my wisdom tooth had been pulled last year. He took an x-ray and sure enough, there it was. So now I get to go back to the oral surgeon and explain that they made a mistake and didn't get all of it out. I've been putting it off because I'm afraid they are going to try and make me pay for it, which I have no intention of doing. ugg.

On a more positive note, I finally am getting two new rats! We won't get them until the 20th because they need to be weaned first, but here's some pictures:

Aren't they just the absolute cuteness???

One of my friends asked me a very interesting question yesterday, so I am going to pose it to all of you. If aliens came to Earth and asked for a book to read that would explain the human condition, what would you pick and why?

ch-ch-changes!

About three weeks ago I applied for a different job at the agency I work at. The interview was the following week, and a couple days later I was offered the job. I'm very excited because not only did I get a raise, I will get every holiday off and most weekends. I have been meaning to update for a while now, but I just haven't had the time! I start training tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous just because it's new and unfamiliar, but I know a couple of my coworkers at the new site and I think it's going to be a lot of fun. Now I just need to buy some clothes because my current wardrobe is mostly t-shirts and jeans and I have very few "business casual" items. So a new job, a raise, and new clothes! Hooray!

Eddie and I went to the Cleveland Zoo yesterday with his mom, and we kept quoting lines from this monty python sketch where they are hunting mosquitoes. The opening lines makes me LOL every time.

The zoo was pretty top notch. They have this exhibit called Touch, and for $1 you can touch a stingray or a shark. It's an enclosed pool with about 10 rays and two small sharks and you put your hand in the water, and they glide right under it. It was by far one of the neatest things I have ever experienced! The rays feel kind of rubbery, but they are surprisingly soft at the same time. For another dollar you could feed them shrimp, and it feels like a vacuum cleaner running over your hand. Super cool!

I got a couple of really great pictures of the polar bears and a black bear, but the best one is an action shot I got of one of the tigers yawning:

And a shot of some amateur protology going on in one of the monkey enclosures:

Hey, I never said this was a classy blog! :)

Speaking of changes, I pulled six white hairs out of my head this morning. SIX! Wtf?! I'm too young to be getting gray hairs already! *sigh*
